On the 8th of October 2000 the inauguration of a monument in the courtyard of the armenian church of St. Hagop took place in Palia Kokkinia.
The monument, an imposing stonecross, known as "khatchkar" in the armenian language, is made of the armenian stone called "doof".
The stonecross is a gift from Mrs. Arpik Nersesian in memory of her early lost child, Takvor Nersesian.
